About The Property

Our Country Retreat | Weatherford, TX

Property Features

We are located about 10 miles south of downtown Weatherford. Wooded walking trails around the property provide the perfect venue for relaxing strolls. Visit the resident goats and meet their newest additions, as well as enjoy the variety of colorful songbirds, gentle deer, glittering fireflies, watchful owls, bumbling armadillos, strutting geese, and other wildlife that frequent the property.

Those who are a bit more adventurous and enjoy exploring rougher terrain may wish to follow a meandering nature trail up a wooded and rocky hill, covered by a variety of vegetation and stone formations. Along a portion of the footpath, an old stone wall still stands from frontier days when, according to legend, it was used to keep horses and stagecoaches on the trail. Further up the path, a clearing eventually comes into sight, providing a beautiful overlook of the valley.

Guests staying in the cottage have shared access to the following features:
  • Fishing pond with covered dock (water level varies, depending on current weather patterns)
  • Pedal boat
  • Picnic tables, benches
  • All-you-can-pick-up pecans (seasonal)
  • Views of resident goats and their playful kids
  • Wooded walking trails around pastures and up rocky terrain ascending to a lovely overlook
  • Shared pasture and tack room may be available for use during your stay (additional charges apply). Please inquire about availability and rates.
Features and amenities subject to change without notice.
Note: Hay is grown and baled on the property, so during certain times of the year, some areas will have high grass.
